Love that sh!t man!-KCan't say I know it, but catchy lyrics! Now here is another cracker:Telstar - The Tornados.Facts:Written and produced by Joe Meek, and recorded in his flat above a shop.It has been claimed that the sounds intended to symbolise radio signals were produced by Meek running a pen around the rim of an ashtray, and that the "rocket blastoff" at the start of the record was actually a flushing toilet, with the recordings made to sound exotic by playing the tape in reverse at various speeds.Great track anyway. The bridge is gorgeous!A nice NASA tribute video too.

Well, if you love/hated the Vanilla Fudge, here is supposed to be the LOUDEST band ever, the MC5, from 69-70! Probably the first metal act ever on stage, and on top of that they were "White Panthers," which made their stage show a political trip. The "Kick out the jams, mother @#$%ers" was edited out of this clip, but I have the original recording which I'm planning on selling to the highest vinyl bidder!Total anarchy, total noise, but very cool in it's own way --- Ern

Quote:Yea that bridge is really nice, but WHAT is that organ on the lead? Woof! Ern A Clavioline. Here's the actual one:Some more interesting facts on Joe Meek:Meek recorded seven tracks with then unknown Tom Jones and took them to various labels in an attempt to get a record deal, with no success. He set up tape machines in graveyards in an attempt to record voices from beyond the grave. He was paranoid; upon receiving an apparently innocent phone call from Phil Spector, Meek immediately accused Spector of stealing his ideas before hanging up angrily. (now there's a marriage made in Heaven)He was obsessed with Buddy Holly. On 3 February 1967, the eighth anniversary of Buddy Holly's death, Meek killed his landlady Violet Shenton and then himself with a single barreled shotgun.

Nope, Blue Cheer was louder than MC5. MC5 broke up before the Ampeg SVT 8x10 was invented. Loudest I ever heard was Blue Oyster Cult, on the Black and Blue tour. They had to follow Black Sabbath (with Dio) that night, so, yeah. I've crouched behind a jet blast deflector on an aircraft carrier while an F-14 Tomcat took off under full military thrust- BOC was louder. If I ever have a hit I think I'll probably milk it like this guy:
