you are indelibly joined at the hip, my friendin·del·i·ble (n-dl-bl)adj.1. Impossible to remove, erase, or wash away; permanent: indelible ink.2. Making a mark not easily erased or washed away: an indelible pen for labeling clothing.3. Unable to be forgotten; memorable: an indelible memory. Is your partner aware that you would rather publish your tunes on your own?Quote:who is doing the pitching work for your songs? is your partner more involved with that?we're about even on the pitching and legwork---

Oh well-- I've been respectfully trying to get a bigger bite of the publishing, so no bad blood yet. Quote:you are indelibly joined at the hip, my friendin·del·i·ble (n-dl-bl)adj.1. Nope, he's a firm believer that the full publishing percentage should go to the business side, not the creative /artistic side.. I personally believe that that 50% for publishing is grossly unfair to the artist (unless the publisher has great hookups!!!)hour for hour--composing is a much bigger job!Quote:nice work with the quotesis your partner being open, to discussing you acquiring a larger portion of the publishing?Quote:Oh well-- I've been respectfully trying to get a bigger bite of the publishing, so no bad blood yet.

Well, JK, you are extremely prolific. I've been reading your posts for the last couple of months. Is everything you write automatically assigned to the publishing entity that you've created? Do you have any contractual obligations to your partner to only write with him? Or that everything you write is automatically assigned to your partnership? Can you simply start writing alone, or with other new partners, from this point on?tQuote:Nope, he's a firm believer that the full publishing percentage should go to the business side, not the creative /artistic side.. up till now, all tracks are assigned to the shared publishing companyno contract at all (seriously, none)can write alone or with others anytime (i do 99% of the time)I currently have produced 75% of our combined catalogue alone---this is why I'd like a bit more of our publishing Quote:Well, JK, you are extremely prolific.
