I have a nice new quadcore PC and PT 8 dvd waiting for me to dive into.I just have not had a clean "breaking point" with my 7.1 machine. My hope is to load up the 8.0 machine, make sure everything is cool...then just switch out machines. It's been sitting there....staring at me......she looks pretty mad.I cannot wait to dive into the AIR plugins...especially the B3. I'm a sucker for a good B3!Plus the new MIDI functionality.

Big Blue, Should you stop back in here - Thank you. Take a bit of heart in knowing you saved myself and probably many others an awful lot of pain. Hate to use the cliche but you really took one for the team here.....Giutar Rig 3 has become one of my latest 'secret weapons".... My tracks got significanlty closer to broadcast quality overnight. My Hardware couldent compete with todays Software.Chris

Hey Chris,Wanted to give you another update. I heard from one of the developers at NI re: GR3. He said that it IS compatible with PT 8, that Digi is just REALLY slow at updating their web site. I also heard from a guy with Line6 and he said the same thing about their POD Farm plug-in (if you have GearBox Gold you're eligible for a FREE Upgrade to the POD Farm plug-in and it is SWEEET). So... this leads me to a different conclusion that depending upon your machine, PT 8 may or may not work great. I've spent quite a bit of time on the DUC (Digi's support forums) and have seen several people having some of the same issues that I've had. I'm gonna post a thread over there with my specs and whatnot and see if I have any type of incompatible hardware, in particular my Firewire port. Digi seems to be VERY strict with regards to compliant hardware, especially regarding Firewire devices. I'll keep you posted with my progress. There are some issues that Digi Tech Support are well aware of and they're still working on them. I'm just very gun shy at the moment about upgrading again. I think I may wait until they release another CS update.- Big Blue
