I just got back to Portland a short time ago and my head is spinning. Michael, you and I met very briefly early on in the Rally and I was hoping to be able to thank you in person for the unbelievably amazing event you organized. Probably 10 times a day I marveled at the number and quality of classes offered, the level of talent and generosity of the presenters and mentors, and the remarkable community that re-emerged and grew as the days went on. I am really, truly in awe. I've been a Taxi member for several years, but this was my first Rally. All I can say is "WOW!" Thanks so much, Michael.Richard

My biggest take away, and this is related to the vibe question, is that TAXI folks are givers. They give of their time, talents, and themselves regularly. They are the kind of folks that I want to strike up and maintain relationships with. I'm changing my business plan as a composer in film and TV. Refactoring from the top down with this paradigm shift: 'what's in it for me' becomes 'how can I help' I came into this business with the notion that my material would make a way for itself. There's a certain viablity to it, but too many times I've been off the mark. Sort of like the plumber who shows up with a new kitchen faucet when the customer has a flooded basement. I'm going to change my approach from 'how do I get 'MY' songs placed' to 'how do I write songs that THEY need'.Can't wait for the next rally. Big thanks to ML, the TAXI staff and all the great folks at the rally!Erich

Dear Michael,This was my third Road Rally, and I don't know if it's possible to put into words my love and appreciation for this event. I consider it as much of a yearly marker as birthdays and Xmas (but now that I'm this old, The Rally is much more fun ).Every year, I come away feeling like my life has changed for the better, and every year -as my focus changes and expands- there is more and more knowledge for me to absorb and integrate into my career plan (my "5-year plan"). It's beyond me how you and your staff are able to pull this off year after year at ALL, much less how you really CAN back up your claims that "it will be the best ever". It was.Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm already counting down the days 'til next year.TedPS. And, as always, the very BEST part of all is the time spent catching up with the life-long friends I've made at previous Rallys (and making NEW ones to add to the list). This event is as close to Woodstock as I may ever get, and we get to be there year after year!! wooHOO!!!!! Ted

I didn't see all the main panelists in the ballroom...but considering the talent and integrity of the panelists I did catch (Jason Blume, Jeffrey Steele, Bob Rice, Michael Lloyd, etc)...the fact is they ALL took time to voice how much they support what Michael Laskow is doing for us, and for the industry. We didn't start & end the rally with standing ovations for Michael for nothing...very well deserved Taxiboss!!!As far as making personal commitments...I think Erich has said it best...let's figure out what people need and do some of that.P.S. Another theme that echoed throughout the event is the power of the forum here. Seems half the mentors I talked with were saying "get on it and get serious" to everyone within earshot. But we knew that.

Michael,All I can say is WOW! The Road Rally (my first) was absolutely amazing! I learned so much, everyone was so friendly and the panelists and mentors were all so inspiring. I can't count the number of times I heard panelists and mentors raving about you and praising you for your dedication. It was a regular "LOVE FEST" in there! You're SO right when you say you can't describe the vibe unless you're in the middle of it all. Thank you so much!LOVED IT!

This was my third rally and still can't get over the fact that it feels like I was just there with everyone the weekend before, not a year before. Something almost indescribable happens every year. It reminds me I have this insanely talented musical family that I am a part of; a group that shares a very special and intense gift that can't necessarily be put into words for those who don't know it for themselves. It was amazing to come "home" to everyone again this year. Thanks again, Michael, for making it all possible. I really appreciate everything you've done.
