Hey I!!Well, as a jazz nut, gotta tell you, the piano is crisp and right THERE....it's got definite edge, which adds to the overall feel. I woulda beefed the bass a bit to add jes a bit of sensuality, a teeny bit of heat to offset how cool it all is. The sax will do, imho. This is a wonderful track. Well done! Got that retro feel to it too.

I've been listening to alot of smooth jazz in the car lately.... Nice station over here called "The Wave" This fits right there stylistically... just enough changes, ect .. Honestly if it were to pop on the radio I'd think it was another regulary rotated song.... I've also noticed they seem to do alot of mock/suedo sounding instruments for their lead lines.... hard to explain, like its acceptable to use any old keyboard patch... They seem more concerned with the melody line than impressing you with the lastest most realistic software on the market... still hear alot of Fm sythesis, patches from the 80's, etc 'Slash' of Guns & Roses fame has a Flemenco song currently in rotation! They can pretty much use whatever they want, and get away with it. I'm usually always impressed regardless of what they've used anyhow. ibanez468

Hey Ibanez,This is great. Sounds a bit retro like early Weather Report but there again that is not a bad thing. My only thing is the left hand of the piano playing. I'd like to hear more variation instead of hitting the full chord on the first beat of every bar I'd say break the chord up. Maybe play the root on the first and then fifth and octave on the second or third beat or however you want to mix it up just to give some variation. Maybe I fixated too much on the piano.....But a small gripe....It's got drive, energy and nice melodic forward motion. Good stuff Ibanez.....Derek

IB,Cool tune here; I think I hear the WX Report reference that Derek mentioned too.Nice piano and bass tones and drums/percussion are very well done. The sax is super cool and is one of the better samples I've heard.Beefs: piano sounds quantized at times, especially on those triplet stabs; bass is too busy early on and attracts too much attention; would like to hear more space on the sax (delay, verb). The ending is great and caps off and very ambitious effort over all. Congrats!Vince

Man, that late entry sax is blowin! And I love the guitar response playing the similar part over on the left side a few seconds later! This isn't my genre...by a long shot...(wait, I don't have a successful genre yet...never mind...that's my trip to take), but the bass is real cool to me. Nice and busy...that live playing?
Earplugs may be required for anyone over the age of cool.

Thanks for the listen fellas!Yeah Derek, I think ya' got a GOOD point there. I'll see what I can conjure up with the left-hand.Vince, I'll see if I can't rough some of the piano parts up. The bass is meant to attract attention. That's the whole idea! You may or may not be familiar with this kinda' jazz. The bass part is the "driving force" of the whole song practically. That's how it works bro'. I'll see what I can swing on the sax parts. They may in fact need a little sweetening. Good beefs though. Thanks Dev! Nope, no live playin' this time. That's Trilogy playin'. And hey, you've got genres, you just haven't figured out which one you really wanna attack yet! I know, it's tuff bro'.ibanez468PS -- You guys are hearing Weather Report huh? Wow, I haven't listened to them in many many years. I wouldn't know a Weather Report song if I heard one right now. I didn't really listen to them at all. Glad it sounds like "somebody" though! That's a GOOD thing, right? What's the old saying?: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Ibanez468, or may I call you Iban? Well I think I already have in the past. I really really love this track. I also hear Weather Report a little and I love their stuff. (something to do with doubling the melody at the octave perhaps?)The left hand piano didn't attract my attention at all. The bass did...!!!!Love the ending - just perfect! Send it out to seek your fortune.Georgie
