Hey guys.... sorry I haven't been around... been busy..... This is the first mix.... still a little rough....will most likely redo some parts....Thanks to Bill.... suggested I buy an amp for guit parts... had an old Peavy Bandit laying around so I used the money on a Boss ME20 effects pedal..... guit sounds are so much easier now...Any and all comments welcomed.... don't worry I'll clean up the ending .....Peace, GeoNew mix on link.... comments/update belowhttp://www.taximusic.com/download/218843/Atlan ... p3Atlantic AvenueGeo 2007Just down the highway from Asbury Park, Lies the answer to WanderlustWhere fires burn and turn the night to day Fortunes into dustStay too long and you’ll forget why you came It’s that old cliché like a moth to the flame Seduced by the neon shining down The Jersey ShoreCegado por las luces hay peligro mi amorOn the Boardwalk things are not what they seemBe careful what you believe On Atlantic Avenue it’s all about what you’ve gotAnd the growing chasm between the haves and have not’sJust over your shoulder looms the land of hope and dreamsWhere your luck runs out with every spin of the slot machineNight fades to day but the neon fires burn The morning sun reveals what darkness defendsJust off the boardwalk tenements line the Appian WayLiving day to day in the shadow of WonderlandWhere everyone’s a winner, come on just throw your money downThe sinners and the saints all really love this town You got to play to win, come on, and just let it all rideBut dive into the ocean soon you’re swimming against the tideOn the Boardwalk things are not what they seemCause nothing in life is free On Atlantic Avenue it’s all about what you’ve gotAnd the growing chasm between the haves and have not’sJust over your shoulder looms the land of hope and dreamsWhere your luck runs out with every spin of the slot machineThings are not what they seemCareful what you believeOn the Boardwalk of the American DreamOn the Boardwalk in the land of hope and dreams

Hi Geo,The guitar sounds are better. Here are my comments on this song:1. I think the sax is not quite happening. It's not the sound or placement in the mix as much as the choices he is making with the melodies. The licks don't seem to support the song like they do in songs like "Baker Street" or "You Belong to The City".2. You need more melodic/rhythm contrast between your verse and your chorus. Right now they sound very similar and therefore there is no sense of movement in the song.Best,Cisko

Wassup "G"?Overall, the tune sounds cool! The sax in the very beginning, right before the singer hits the verses, sounds cool, but there may be some sections of the song where it might not fit at times.Sounds like one of those situations where you hafta' to throw it in at just the right time, and then back off it at the right time as well. It can be kinda' tricky for a song like this. Too much playin' underneath the singer might be a bit of a distraction, but the sections where there's no singing seem to be OK. That little chromatic run the sax player did around 1:40, sounded good, but just wasn't a good fit, IMO. Towards the end of the song where it's building up, sounds OK there. But overall, the tune is COOL! Just gotta be careful with that sax! As far as drums go, yeah, you gotta make 'em sound a little more like there's a real drummer workin' back there. Different fills (besides just the snare), maybe more toms, a little more stick work, etc...will bring more realism to the drum part. GOOD job bro'! HTH.ibanez468

hi geo--i like the ideas here, i can hear where this is going, i like the sax actually, and know the whole thing needs polishing. hey your vocal is good man! one suggestion is what paul simon did on one of his tunes years back (hell, i THINK) it was him...might be wrong, and that's fade all of it, and just have to solo sax kinda play with itself to end this. just an idea....not extremely original, but i think it could be very effective. that's all i got.oh, i think i sent you paul's email, no? if not, yell at me...it's cool!all the best, warren

Hey geo, much better guitar sounds I think. Not sure about that sax though. Also, while your thinkin' about re-doing the drums you might wanna consider a more authentic reggae kinda thing . . . I think that would be cool-

OK just a quick remix (same link).... Ibanez... I fiddled with the sax... dropped it during the chorus and changed that run you didn't like...Warren.... dropped some of the lyrics on the outro... like where it's going....Bill... going for a Rock/Reggae hybrid... I'll go for a more Island feel on the verses and more rock on the chorus... think it should work....Thanks for the listen guys!!!Peace, Geo

hey geo--structure is there, i really like this--crap this shouldda been in one or ANY of the Ocean's 11 through 100 flicks...LOL...hell i hated the music to that (it was on the other night...cheesy and not as cool as this for sure...much improved. what my personal preference would be (and it might not be possible at this point...) is a TOTAL solo sax, no nothing else, at the end. ...don't know what you use to produce, but you could copy and splice the intro into a new outro of the same :22 or so seconds...but just solo....and real up front and loud man...or pick a run of several measures from what you have already...but again, just my opinion, what the hell do i know??very nice!! the best,wh

OK... redid drums.... did the chorus heavier.... how I do with the fills?Added an organ... little rib-a-dub....Doubled distorted guits and hard panned... plan to redo all guits eventually...Warren... glad you're liking where it was going... scribbled down the the lyrics after a visit to Atlantic City... never liked Casinos...I just read your last comments... took out most of the extro words.... I have another sax bit that I could have playing during the fade after the crash... will give it a try...Redoing vocals tomorrow...Peace, Geo
