The melodic ideas need more time to evolve, wait with the second melodic idea until the first have had time to evolve.2. Try using more subtle elements for evolving also, like adding a new percussion or something - all those melody lines makes this piece stylistic out of genre.3. Focus on getting some coolness into it, now it is way to hectic and trying to much to be cool. 'Slower' is a keyword.- until next timefrodo

The sound and effect on the rythm guitar seems unmotivated. Why this sound? It draws attention to itself without reason. Try a guitar without the effect, panned to one side. Use the whole stereo field.2. Something should happen at the start of the second verse. Also, in the chorus, something more should have happened, like an extra guitar or piano or something, - maybe a vocal dub.3. The drummer sounds very drunk or playing in a different room without hearing what the other players do. Try making it sound more like they're all playing together.- until next timefrodo

hello frodo--first, thank you for the listen to my tune "Solo Dream"--this sound effect was used because i am a very LOUSY guitar player--i wholeheartedly agree with you. it's the best i could do at the time, but no excuse.--i'll look at the beginning/breaks again. this song will eventually be completed re-played by every REAL instrument.--the drums thanks for the compliment, but are very very fake. your comment is appropriate however, as since i produced this fake drum from my limited # of tracks/sounds, it is amazing that it sounded as crappy as it did! ha!i wish to thank you for your comments and free critique. i REALLY appreciate it. makes me want to spend another 7 hours in my home studio again tomorrow (my ears hurt, my throat hurts, my fingers hurt...) and start this tune from scratch--which i'll do someday, or have it demo'd out. i love the tune, but it's sale-ability is admittedly limited...all the best, and again thank you,warrenps: anybody looking in, here's the tune (maybe...)http://www.taximusic.com/download/23170 ... t:playSong("/stream/23170/Solo Dream.mp3","Solo Dream");

Try combining a convolution consert hall with a hi quality digital long reverb, or convolution of an artificial place, very long - like 6-7 seconds, with a clear predelay.2. Pan the instruments not so wide, make them more mono in the panning, let the reverb do the widening thing, make the piano almost in mono, and the orchester and string things much more in mono. 3. Loosen up the playing, - the piano sounds quantized. Play once more, without quantizing, and instead, those few notes that sounds to early or to late, - don't look at the values, just listen - move those notes until it sounds good.- until next timefrodo

Hi Frodo,A few months ago I put this one up for review in this forum and the reviews did not come back favorable. Therefore, I very interested in your opinion. Rip it apart with honesty, you can't hurt my feels.http://abbeydigitalarts.com/cd/02HandsOffMyLady.mp3Jeff

The playing is too much out of time, tighten it up. It has to sound like good players playing in the same room. You'll get the best results by moving small pieces into time by ear. It will probably be best by following the groove from the guitars and moving the drums and bass to match, instead of the other way around.2. and 3. Do #1. It will make the most difference and it is so obvious it overshadows all other areas and really really needs to be done.- until next timefrodo
