Yes, Aaron, you have valid points to make. But you're coming off like a lunatic with a vendetta. For your own reputation's sake, stop it. Perry is smart and motivated enough to help his own song become popular. Doesn't that give you a clue, what you might be able to do with your own songs? Find a way to make yourself (your tunes) popular instead. Trying to drag Perry through the mud, is pointless. Don't make me go and get my bear suit...

Way to go Perry! (amazing what a little success stirs up, on both sides of the coin! hasn't the pop music business always been about how many people vote for their favorite song, with their wallets, usually? haven't folks in the marketing side of the business made good livings trying to get people to do just that? seems like that's what you're doing. good for you.)Mazz

And so what if he has. Why shouldn't he ask his friends and acquaintances to listen to his work and cast a vote? I would do the same.I really don't understand why your knickers are in a twist about this. Are you saying if you were in the top 20 you wouldn't tell anyone? I find that hard to believe. And even if everyone that Perry has asked to vote for him votes for him, it will still only be a needle in a haystack compared to all the other voting done by the millions and millions of people who don't belong to songwriting boards.Anyway, enough of this. I have songs to write. Some of 'em might even be good. H

I actually wouldn't mind if they did choose his song, it's just the way he was going about getting votes, telling people in the American idol forums to vote everybody else low and him high instead of telling people to vote for the songs that they like the bestBut just like any politician a vote is a vote nonetheless

Indeed, let me tell the whole world so I can make Ontario's point loudly and clearly: VOTE FOR ME!!!! I MADE THE TOP 20!!!! AND I WOULDN'T CRY IF YOU RATED MY SONG A LOT HIGHER THAN THE OTHERS! (I bet no one would have guessed that I would be thrilled to be rated higher than the other songs. A real surprise, eh? Your prob, Ontatio or Airun or whatever, is that you don't give people enough credit. How is it that you think I can control people? Did you rate me high simply because I wanted you to? I, on the other hand, trust that people will vote how they want to vote and they are not idiots. If they happen to want to rate me high because I post here, so be it. If they happen to want to rate me low because I post here or somewhere else, so be it. Isn't America great?)

This is where I get confused. Perry's always been a nice guy, no big show all over the boards, stating pessimistic opinions or trying to burst anyone else's bubble. He doesn't brag or get bent. He came on the thread, shared that he was making a run for AI and would we vote? he didn't try to blackmail anyone. He didn't gloat over how much better he is than I am because he's now in the top 20.Some of this sounds like sour grapes to me, OL, which is a shame. He deserves to have the ride of his life without backseat drivers telling him all about his behavior (that I have yet to witness and no, don't care about any other sites, I care about this one).
