Re: Another ambiguous return.
Steve and Matto, I agree with you guys to a point! While nothing in this world is perfect, I just think there is room for improvement on the instrumental listings as a whole. I get bummed when I look at songwriting listings that are most often very detailed, and instrumental listings that are most often not. I have two friends (which is really what's driving this for me) who say they are gonna bail on Taxi citing this as their main reason, and needless to say I'm kinda sad (because this issue aside, I've been happy with my Taxi experience). We've celebrated at each of our forwards and had a commeraderie that I have cherished (one friend is moving out of state, which makes it more of a bummer). Guys, I have the utmost respect and admiration for you, as well as all who post here. These are just my opinions and I just hope to make things better for all of us ( and yes I'm venting a bit). I can see that many of us get frustrated at some of these listings, there have been many threads about it. Maybe my posts are an exercise in futility, but maybe someone will read this and find a way to improve the situation. -Mark

Re: Another ambiguous return.
Hmmm, very interesting. First off, sorry Mazz, I didn't mean to put you on the spot or suggest that your example was "the way things are," but it was just a perfect example to explain my question. And yep, Matto, I'm always aware we're primarily working for non-musicians, but one obvious aspect of this that I didn't really think through until now is that while I am bored by big trailer type pieces and am more impressed by beautifully done quiet music (the Jupiter Symphony Andante Cantabile rocks!) and a previous Taxi screener raved about one of the quiet pieces I got returned on this listing, a non-musician would be more likely to take the quiet stuff for granted. So hopefully it's like Mazz said, and even though the producer isn't getting "all genres," he's getting what will get his interest.Steve - Interesting comments on your original submission to this producer. Funny thing is, you told me I had done a piece that would perfectly fit the show when the daytime gig was relisted a few months back. It was forwarded but I never got the call. Meanwhile, the big action cue I submitted wasn't forwarded then, but was this time. It'll be interesting to see what happens now!

Re: Another ambiguous return.
Let us just add here, again, that the tracks Wings submitted are very good film underscore pieces that will (and I believe have) find a home somewhere. Re the "wow" factor -- I suppose it's like putting together a song demo. They say, only send 3 tracks at most, only 1 ballad (if any) and put your best uptempo track first.H
