Re: ONOFFON
That's awesome.I actually worked in the studio with Stanley and Sunny a few years back. I was doing demo vox for them. Both were cool, and fed me wine to make things go smooth.Jimi

Re: ONOFFON
Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is a page from our drummer, Dave Goode's path to his association with ONOFFON. When The RH Factor's drummer, Jimmi Marcos, (in the jazz fest photo above), left the group, we asked Dave to join us. He was touring and recording with guitar legend, Frank Marino. Here's a shot of Dave at a live performance with Frank -He would split his time with us and Frank, and he even played a little with Frank once we formed ONOFFON, but he hasn't played with Frank for quite a few years now, although they still remain friends today... Jimi - that's great to have actually worked with Stanley and Sunny in a professional capacity. I didn't get to play with him - only to perform on the same stage as he, which was pretty awesome in it's own right. Very cool... As for you, Drew - maybe we'll get a chance to meet and hang out someday - maybe at a Road Rally?

Re: ONOFFON
ONOFFON's SSP of the Day takes us back to The RH Factor. Dave Goode and I played together as a rhythm section for a decade before we met Don Lake and formed ONOFFON. When Dave joined The RH Factor, after playing around town for a couple of years, we landed the job of writing the score for an independent feature film called "Forever", released in 1992. We wrote all the featured songs, the entire underscore, and even appeared in the movie, as a band shooting a music video directed by the lead character, played by Keith Coogan. The other stars in the movie were Diane Ladd, Sean Young, and Sally Kirkland.Unfortunately, for us, the movie received the worst reviews a movie could receive when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival (I still have the review published in Variety) and barely garnered a video release. Still, it was a wonderful experience, working with an excellent music supervisor, Leslie Chew, of Red Productions...

Re: ONOFFON
Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is the final chapter of The RH Factor. In 1994, we released a CD called "The RH Factor - Jams", that got us a small P&D deal with an independent label, K-Gem Productions -Unfortunately, this brought to the surface a power play by one member of the group that ended up tearing us apart - a story surely told a thousand times by a thousand bands. But, without that, Dave and I wouldn't have found our true calling... Next - ONOFFON....

Re: ONOFFON
The birth of ONOFFON is today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day. Guitarist, Don Lake, had formed the original ONOFFON with other players. They recorded a CD called 'Ad Libitum' but never technically released it, though, you can occasionally find it on eBay in some auction. That band split amicably, not suffering the same drama The RH Factor went through.Don was out one night and heard Dave playing in a cover band. He gave Dave a tape and Dave sent it to me - three months later we finished our first CD, 'Surrender Now' -Since its release in early '97, it has continued to earn excellent reviews and features for many of the songs on it, being well documented in this thread...

Re: ONOFFON
Yeah Drew, I understand we're really big in the postal community... The ONOFFON SSP of the Day is about our upcoming gig, which I have also announced in the Giggage boards. Nonetheless, it is still SSP. We have had a change of venue for this Thursday's gig - the info is on this flyer -The folks at Planet Earth Records, who was originally sponsoring this gig, has now consented to host it at their facility. It is an old church in the heart of L.A. and is soon to be the hip place to perform at in Los Angeles. Thanks to John Gocha' and Planet Earth Records for everything...

Re: ONOFFON
Our continuing saga is today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day. After releasing our first CD, we almost immediately started working on our second. By early 1999, we finished and released our next CD, Your Mind -It received even better reviews than the first, though, heralded as more jazz than progressive rock. "Mardi Gras" emerged as our most popular song, (even though it's not my personal favorite), and has received countless features and accolades, also well documented throughout this thread. You never know how a particular song will strike the public. It was responsible for more than 80,000 of our 157,000+ downloads on the original Mp3.com and still continues to be our most successful tune.As a side note, while my brother, Perry, designed our first album cover and what is now ONOFFON's trademark logo, the hand holding the light bulb with pull switch, I designed the artwork and layout for Your Mind. I am currently working on the art and layout for our upcoming CD...
