Cubase 6 - drool

Post by fusilierb » Thu Jan 13, 2011 5:57 pm

Finally, I'm not going to be jealous of you Logic users swipe comp tools. But the neatest thing, besides the new loopmash is the expression function. They already had the best tool for multi-articulation sample libraries, but they just upped the anti with this:

64 bit on mac. Finally!

So who's gonna go first and tell me how buggy it is? ;)

Wow, I love Cubase...been using it since the Atari days.

It's always improving.

I definitly lake the new features. I'm running C5 on a PC and I'm sure I'll upgrade, but there is always a learning curve and issues like all my presets disappearing...
But I know I'm gonna make the leap anyway...
I started with SX3 and have been a fan since.
Cuebase 5, Reason / Record, Wavelab 6.
WinXP SP3, 2.66 Ghz Core 2 Quad CPU, 4 gig RAM.
If you think you know it all, then all you've succeeded in doing is cease learning

Some very nice groundbreaking stuff in this package...

Still, I'm inclined to wait a bit...always seems to be a bug fix right around the corner from any ".0" version. But it looks like a very nice package indeed.

I just ordered my copy. I've been putting off moving my recording software to my Windows 7 machine for some time, because I'm concerned about running 32-bit VST plugins in a 64-bit software... that, and re-installing all my software again is bound to be a pain. Looks like there are just too many improvements over Cubase 4 for me to put it off any longer. I'm excited about the Expression maps. Do you folks who already use this feature like it?

I use the expression feature all the time. It's fantastic! Very much looking forward to this new expansion of it.

A lot of the improved features seemed to be ones I didn't ever use or very little. The neve portico plugins perked my ears, but they are an add on and not features. The new expression feature is nice if any software companies take advantage of them, I think they were still waiting on several companies to release maps for the old one.

I built my own maps for the current one. They are very easy to build and they make life much easier. I'm really looking forward to multiple controllers per note without having to create and juggle lanes. And these controllers will actually be attached to the note so they move around as you move the notes.

Bought my copy. Waiting for it to arrive. I'll let u know how the new version is.
