Re: Just a request.
Oh, Man. I remembered something I wasn't supposed to forget a couple of days ago. When we came back from MD Anderson, I was supposed to begin getting bloodwork done every 3 weeks until I returned to MD.I turned the order in at the hospital (Closest place since I'm not supposed to drive) and promptly forgot. So, three months later, I'm trying to correct the error. Got on the phone to MD this A.M. and had them fax the order to the hospital. I'll start the blood tests tomorrow a.m. As far as driving, I got no choice. I promise I'll be careful. They're also faxing everything my Oncologist here might need (I kinda twisted their arm about working as a team since my life is on the line). So, I'm back on it and pushin' hard. By the way. I started a blog over at Blogger: http://www.blogger.com/home?pli=1'case anyone's interested. I'm free and easy in there .

I just can't get over how much better I'm feeling. Wonder if it's 'cause I've adopted this take-the-bull-by-the-horns attitude. Whatever it is, I'll take a thousand of 'em, please .Doc seemed very pleased that my vision has improved. That certainly gave me some much needed encouragement.Hey, Casey. Ain't heard from you in a bit. My Mom's chompin' at the bit to get that CD. All y'all. My sister checks in here several times a week and is touched by how much y'all treat me like family. She has her kids and some more kin checkin' in, too. You've given good tears.

Walter, You are in my prayers. I don't know you but I can relate to what you feel like. You will get back to where you want to be health wise. It is a day by day process, some good, some not good, some great! Eventually you get more good days than bad and then all of a sudden it dawns on you that most of your days are just fine again. knowing that you're going to have up's and downs is important and a positive atitude of gratitude does miracles.thanks for your time.Greg.

Oh, I'm well aware of the ups and downs. Today my legs feel a little funny, and I'm real sleepy. But, I'll just blame that on the work a marriage takes .I've begun talking to a counselor, too. That's kind of a spiritual thing. The doubt and fear I feel really disturbs me at times. God deserves better from me after all He's done; Wife, Family, Y'all, Church, etc., etc.. There's other stuff, of course. Those two are the biggies that get under my skin, though.

I know your pain and believe me, it can really help to talk it through with someone who isn't personally involved. It's okay to ride the wave...sometimes up, sometimes down. Helps you manage your energy resources. Treatment and illness sap our energy and sometimes we have to just float along with it if we want to save it for another, better day. Keepin' you in my thoughts, swee'pea. Squids

Re: Just a request.
After talking to some folks at the hospital today after my MRI (Brain's still in there ), I've decided it ain't gonna hurt none to have an expert on ECD looking at my blood, as well as my Oncologist. So, I'm doin' the every three week blood test thang (the results will go to the experts at MD Anderson) and the "test whenever I go to my Oncologist" deal. My thinkin' is, this way I've got all the bases covered.Everybody at the hospital that hasn't seen me in a while says I look alot better than I did a few months ago. I can handle good news like that. Now, if I can just get good news from the doc.

Ha! Whenever I heard that from people after a treatment would wear off, I tried to tell myself what they really meant to say was that I looked smokin'!! So you're all good lookin' again, Walt!!I think the blood tests, while tiresome , will be one more tool in the box toward getting you back up on the pony. Giddyup big guy!

Re: Just a request.
Hey Walter--My wife had pituitary surgery four years ago and is doing great. My cousin had a similar surgery last year and is feeling good again too. I'm sending good vibes your way and hoping your results are as good as theirs. As my oncologist said at one point regarding a situation I have with lymphoma: "There's a lot of bad things out there, but we're pretty good at treating a lot of bad things!"All the best--
