Re: Just a request.
MMMMMMMMmmmmm!!! That's better. My headache's gone, and I feel great today . Too bad it's the day after my wife's day off . But, I've been working in the yard and putting some stuff together musically for a collaborative effort.Got a couple of tomato plants going, put some flowers in the garden (Dahlias, marigolds, salvia and a bulb I can't remember the name of), put some bone meal on our calla lilies and fertilizer on the rest, pruned a coupla roses back that needed it badly and filled the birdfeeders. I ain't got that much done, or had the ambition, in quite some time. There's some work to do, still .Oh, yeah! The collaboration is with a fella from Africa that has plans to visit an orphanage in Romania soon. He will be performing the songs we put together. He may put an album together and use the profits, I hope, to benefit the children there.

Well, it's lookin' like I'm gonna get that Chance for "inspirational" speaking. My pastor is taking a sabbatical and has asked folks to help out as they can. They seem to think what's goin on with me and how I rely on my faith would be great subject matter. Guess I'd better get to work on writin' & organizin'! I'll also be performing for the first time in nearly a year. It's amazing how much stronger I've been feeling. Been getting lots of comments on how much better I look to (I didn't know one could improve on perfection). BIG LOLOh,yeah! I might be doing my old Fourth of July street concert for The Downtown Waynesville Association this year. It would be 4 hours performing for $125, tips and maybe the sales of a short CD I'm thinkin'-o burnin'. Yep! Believe it or not, I've had people ask if I have a CD! Means I'd better be workin'on gett'n' those ol' callouses back and honing my old throat noises.

The Opthalmologist was very pleased today. Said my eyesight was 20-20 to 20-25. Once again, very encouraging.

Thanks, again. y'all's support has certainly continued to inspire me. But, my sister checks in here from time to time, too. The encouragement she has seen for her little brother has brought her to tears at times. You guys are great!

I got three bro's and three sis's, plus nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and a cousin or two that check in, too. Mom doesn't have a working computer. One of those things I'm going to take care of when I get rich .

Hey, hey!Interesting little adventure this morning. I'll leave out the long part. But, I wound up getting the # of someone at the bigger newspaper in Western NC. I called the lady there, and they may, at some point, be interested in doing a story or series on Orphan Diseases, one of which is Erdheim-Chester. It's possible, and I certainly hope likely, that this would increase knowledge of these illnesses, then jack up funding and attention. She seemed very interested and asked lots of questions. I'm a writer, not an orator. But, hopefully I did okay and tweaked her interest. I've begun a cause at Facebook:http://apps.facebook.com/causes/97118?f ... d=16154293 , and am looking into that writing I talked about.

Happy Fourth of July folks. I got to celebrate w/ my sweetie before she took of for the labor camp (She gets double time and is workin' a 12). We grilled Italian sausage, had baked potato's, mixed veggies and Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. So, I hope yours is going just as well.Idea: I'm working on an idea about contacting our Representatives & Congress persons to draw more attention to these rare diseases. I'm going to ask a friend about performances where I can have brochures to educate the public with me. She handles events for downtown Waynesville. What y'all think?
