Hi Walt! Sorry I haven't been posting for a while - You mentioned getting books done. Amazon now has on demand publishing services available - just thought that may be an avenue for you to look at. I'm hoping you feel better, and that your appointments are all before year's end to get that tax deduction!!

Well, fun, fun. I called my Oncologist about a month ago, and they said I had an appt. with the Neurologist on the 10th, tomorrow. I never heard what time. So, I called today. Good thing, too. They said they have nothing to offer me. I was set to get up early and have my wife drive me to Asheville. Woulda been fun to drive 25 miles for nothing. Now, the docs are saying it doesn't look like I need a shunt right away. They said if they find evidence that I do need one, they will be sure to find a neurosurgeon that I will work with. I don't like this practice, as their egos come first.Do Dr.'s ever communicate with their patients?!!

I mean, one minute I had an appt., then I didn't, then my oncologist was supposed to call the neurosurgeon and straighten this out and never got back to me on it. Last I heard from the Oncologist, I had an appt. on the 10th, 2 days ago, on a first available basis (?!!) Then, when I called the neuro. to clear that up, they said they had nothing to offer me.My Oncologist made it sound like he wanted the shunt taken care of ASAP, then he says we're in no hurry!!! I just wish I could get one message in a clear fashion. With the back and forth, they had me very confused.

Anyone that might be interested, I have a transcript of the conference call our chat group had with Dr. Rozelle Kurzrock of MD Anderson. She's THE Doc on ECD and the one you guys helped fund my Houston trip to see. Very informative and in English, I might ad.

Thanks, Suz. As you can see, this is a great place for support!I called my doc yesterday, Tues, and asked if adopting would be a good idea for us. I'm worried about my meds and being safe around a child.Well, they said I would pose no danger to a child and that my wife and I would actually be very good for a young'un'.Provided we are approved, I just pray that we instill values in a little one that will help them to leave this world a bit better than they found it.

Just thought I'd let y'all know that, since I've been faithful with my exercise, I've really been feeling tons better. I'm working on picking up a couple of more programs that we have DVD's for. My vision and energy level have been top notch. I've been planting and pruning trees, cutting the grass and have plans drawn up to improve a small hill in our back yard. I still have my days (Hate 'em, too), and I do the afore mentioned a little at a time. But, the Fentanyl seems to be the monkey wrench during the bad spurts.Goin' in for another MRI, with contrast, on the 14th. I have the feeling doc Freidman is going to be perty pleased (like he'd ever show it). I'm actually excited, though.
