Howdy!
I finally got around to finishing this thing, super cool fun process. Those professionals really make it sound easy!
I still would like to hear this with a twangy vocal, (I might spring for that) I'm too close to it at this point, and I don't know If my vox really work.
What do y'all think?
Thanx -Rob

I listened to the original demo and the first iteration. I loved your voice on the demo. So heartfelt.
This is exciting for you! Glad this is happening. Great song, hope it goes far for you. Tim

hey Rob,

Thanks for keeping this one updated! I was looking forward to hearing the final product.

I think it is really good and I think your voice is awesome! But, since you are asking, I did notice immediately that you were singing and thought "hey, I thought Rob got a country guy to sing it". I do like you voice but for this song, I am kinda leaning towards the country twang.

I did notice something else that may or may not need to be there. At 2:25 there is a twang of some sort I think from a guitar. It jumped out at me on the very first pass so I played it 5 times in this section to make sure it was not a glitch in the stream.

You may want to look at that, especially since you paid them for the work, if that is not supposed to be there, they should take that out for free I would think.

Keep in mind, the better the song and the better the production, the deeper I listen and more I nit pick. I only say it cause I know you can "take it" and won't take it personal. ;)

Thanks Mikey!
I heard that little pop in the tele line too- I think its just a damped lick with a hard attack and the guit compression
makes the attack stand out a bit, the next line has it too just not quite as prevalent. I stuck out to me when I heard the track without the vocal, but it's working for me now. (probably just got used to it!) Good ear on you!

I can get this guy to sing it for me, (he's buddies with the studio I used) I might have to spring for it... his voice kicks my ass IMHO
cheers- Rob

Hey Rob... great tune.

Listened to both versions, both sound great on their own, it's a coin flip but the studio version got to me!

Grew up on country music, way back when the word Western was used. This mood in this tune brought me back to my folks fighting, my dad drinking... its long ago now but the fact the tune plucked the strings of some old emotions deserves kudos.

Good Luck with the pitch.

Hey Rob,

Can't add anything, but just confirm that this is an outstanding song. It will sound great in any rendition, I think, because it so well written. I heard the acoustic version first, and that really made me listen. Heard the full band version afterwards, and that sounds nice too. The acoustic would work the best for publishers and artist pitches, though, imo. It really highligted the great songwriting, and was very effective. It definitely sound like a Kenny Chesney pitch to my ears. Crossing hopes!

I like the lyric, there's some clever lines. The structure is a bit different with the bridge coming in before the second verse. I'm not sure if there's enough of a lift between the verse and chorus but it has a lot of potential. Sounded like it could be something that Darius Rucker could do. Nice job, especially for a first country attempt.

Hi Rob, I like both versions. As far as I'm concerned a good song is a good song whether it's done by studio people or just the songwriter. Hoping this one takes you places.
