Just found a review of the concert online. The first part of the review talks about problems with acoustics etc but then there comes a really nice sentence..."The second half of the evening was much more consistent, starting with a superb performance of Richard Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra,” better known as the theme to “2001: A Space Odyssey,” and the rousing theme to an independent film called “Pendragon: Sword of his Father,” which was composed by Signature Symphony violist Lydia Ashton." Congratulations on this all, you must be floating still!You make me laugh! I think you are right - Strauss probably wouldn't mind. There are actually two things I will change for next time. (and that will be sooner than I thought because the orchestra will be performing my viola concerto next season. WOOHOO!!!) I will not be playing so that I can enjoy the moment AND I will do everything I can to get a (good) recording. The ideal I think would be to record a rehearsal so that I could mic the different sections which would give me some ability to work with the mix later. Even if I may never be allowed to use the recording for anything it would be fun to have.And yes... I am still floating!!!
