Actually - I think you can select "custom" and write in whatever you want; there are other genres - like Bluegrass - missing from their default list.
More often than not, I use the custom option, cause my funsongs rarely fit into any category.

And - I'll chime in, too, with Cass & MM - politely, as it were - the first "divide" word/pronunciation puzzled my ears also.

As an aussie I wondered what a 'duvide' was on first listen, kept listening and got the context before enjoying the rest of the song.

After listening again to the track, carefully - to these Old-Guy ears - it's more an issue of prosody than pronunciation.
di (short "i" sound) - vide (vi'de) emphasis on the long "i") sound is in line with your Google answer/example.
Some regions may say "dee"... but I wouldn't say that's "the American way".

In that we're having this discussion - it seems like a significant enough wrinkle, if you will, to consider smoothing it out... however you would handle that.
OR - chalk it up to artistic license.

I hear lots of contemporary renderings of common words that "ear-itate" my hearing - like it's done for the sake of 'cool', or whatever -
like "yo" instead of "you". "Ya" sounds like ordinary slang - but I don't know where the "yo" rendering came from. That's just one example.

From my perspective, emphasis on the tail is dih-VAYD (more like duh-vide) is for parseling out pieces "I'll divide the pie"
and DE-vide, emphasis on the head, is something that you cross "The Great Divide"

I do get the "cool" factor and think that can be a plus on record. Adele has sung some words the brits might say that would never be the way we would in the states.

Interestingly enough, I just listened to Across The Great Divide by the Band and Bruce Hornsby's Great Divide. Richard Manuel (Canadian) sings it 'duh'. Bruce Hornsby (American) sings it 'dee'.

I'm going play around with a couple different takes and see what happens.

Though I may use Cass's original suggestion of Duvet, as it changes the whole complexion of the song!
