Thanks for reminding me...I should cyber check on Lindsey to see how her "green" tea habit is progressing. She said she's off caffeine when I posted that I gave up coffee & Coke when I saw this thread. It was three days of headaches (with day #2 in bed to cope). As Casey pointed out earlier, it's hardly a shadow of what the new non-smokers must be up against. The hardest part actually isn't at work (as the free coffee there isn't very good), it's the drive to work in the morning...passing all those coffee shops...specialty cafés....Dang. Time for more Tetley-caffeine-free-Rooibos-Vanilla tea...be right back.

Hey guys,I'm still thinking of you all, just not had time to read all the posts...it's gone wild here!!! You're all doing SO well and yeah we're all rooting for your success Nope coffee is still off the menu! It's difficult because we have one of those funky Senseo machines that top your coffee with mousse but I know how ratty it leaves me feeling. Apparently chicory is better for you and even quite good for your skin, whether there's much truth to that I don't know. I've been keeping away from both.I've always enjoyed a variety of different teas, I have a cupboard dedicated to just that! Sad isn't it lol! I'm still seriously thinking about that marathon next April - got some training to do and I'm gradually building up my exercise routine again.Anyway folks, I wish you lots of courage to keep moving forward. Lindsey

I've been having trouble keeping up with my "no smoking" lifestyle. So today I bought the patch and something called stresstabs, which has b-vitamins, c + e, plus zinc...hopefully this will help

Hey everyone,I'm still hangin' in there. Nine days now without a smoke. Seems the worst is over. I've run out of snacks (except the carrots), and I'm still able ta' get by without givin' in. I still have vitamins & apple juice, so I'll work with those until I can get to the store today. Have to take mums to look at a Senior Citizens facility this morning. She's ready ta' get rid of the house and all of it's hassles, so she can live a more carefree life now. I told her I was quitting and she was very happy to hear so. So, that's where I'm at today. Moving one day-at-a-time. Takin' the steps, feelin' betterer & betterer each day! I might just be able to play basketball with the kids this summer, at the rec center across the street from the house. That would be a big help exercise-wise. Get the adrenalin flowin', get the heart pumpin'. Yeah, that sounds like a plan! ''Preciate everyone's kind words & support. Thank you very much! I'm sure the others appreciate as well! You guys hang in there, you're doin' great! And to all of the ex-caffeine users, brave of you all to join the cause as well. We all just might end up helpin' each other become a healthier bunch at this rate, huh?I-468

Hi Sol,I take Stresstabs, they work great. Really kept my stuff together for me after Katrina and cuts down on my appetite while boosting my energy. Good for the nerves. You'll feel betta takin' 'em than not, I bet.

Hey, guys.Wow, Ibanez. SO proud of you. I also felt like the worst of it was over by my 9th day.Carlos, good call on the stresstabs. That ought to make a world of difference.Milfus, just the fact that you're so consistent in checking-in means your heart is still in the fight. Don't give up.I'm still amazed that on Sunday, it will be a month for me. SO glad about that. Thanks to ALL of you for the support and encouragement. This wouldn't have happened without you.Ted
