My son told me, twice, "You should have seen how pretty they were in person" I think he likes playing guitar more than ever now
It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

Quote:My son told me, twice, "You should have seen how pretty they were in person" I think he likes playing guitar more than ever now Ain't it cool how the young 'uns carry the ol' torch? Sounds like he may be running with it... Quote:Yeah Hooks...and we know right where they are! Quote:And speaking of lithium... I thought Nirvana's Nevermind was pure genius... Sorry Hooks. Gotta disagree. (surprise surprise!) Nevermind is dull as dishwater. A major label's idea of what 'alternative' should sound like. And the only really good riff on the record (Come As You Are) is a note for note steal of a Killing Joke song. Even the guitar sound is the same. Cobain died before the case went to court.

I dunno Mani.I'm a die-hard country fan and that release grabbed me by the horns and reeled me in.I bought the cd and played it over and over. It connected with me and a few million others, bud...Dark stuff, but potent...

What horns, Katy? I don't get it...BTW...I just found a quote that I like...A pessimist is a man who thinks that all women are bad...An optimist is one who hopes they are...Long live optimism... Who can argue with that?

I drove 2000 miles to Minnesota recently, with all the classic albums cranked on the stereo, and except for Beatles, Led Zep, Stones, Yes, James Brown etc., the only artists that really tickled my craw were Nirvana's "Nevermind" and Cat Stevens "Tea For The Tillerman"! Poor Cat! It's hard to be a Muslim these days --- Well, I've gotta add Miles' "Kind of Blue", Coltrane's "Giant Steps" etc. etc.!!!Ern

Hook, you said something grabbed you "by the horns". Oh, now Ern, that's a good subject! Great CD's forlong drives. I remember when I drove across country, when the radio didn't offer a lot of options, I listened toone of my best Tower of Power tapes, home-madeto include just my faves. Chicago works well for that, too.

Hooks is horney allright..... So people...what is it that makes us like the Lennon-McCartney songs? (Harrison too.) Lyrics? Melody? Combination? How come there hasn't been another team like that in recent years, or has there?
