Oops, sorry! Haven't checked back here in a while! No, the Beatles and Clapton were recording guitars quite often through Leslie speakers that were normally hooked up to Hammond organs. Back then, Leslies had tube amps that distorted like guitar amps (maybe they still do!).The lower woofer was commonly recorded with one mic, and the spinning horns were recorded with two mics, 180 degrees from each other.George originally recorded every track on "Blue Jay Way" through Leslies, until everybody in Abbey Road fell down and vomited.(Just kidding!)Ern
