Especially because it's be easier to read the responses you get, if they're all on the same thread. Posting the same thing in 3 threads, makes people feel LESS like responding, and that's not what you want at all is it?

Steve is correct that cross-posting [and bumping up your post before people have had a chance to respond] is generally considered poor forum etiquette...not just on this forum. Perhaps the OP (original poster) was not aware of that, however, so we'll let him off with a light slap on the wrist... @ cj: Many of us use the "100 most recent posts" button in the Info Center at the bottom of the forum home page, so we see messages from all forums (and all cross-posts several times).André

I'd hope their willing to accept your first born instead.

Sorry 'bout the cross posts. Won't happen again! This seems to imply that by just submitting a piece for their potential use means they own all the rights. How can that be? Kitz

Kitzit's disney. they feel they can screw you and you'll be happy about it. and btw, it's irrevocable. forever. and ever ... and ever ... amen.but there must be a music attorney on this board? or somebody within the taxi organization who handles this sort of query, after all, you are talking about a deal that came about by way of taxi correct? or one that might be offered ...

In section 2 they say anything is either their copyrighted property or the property of licensors and licensees (which you would be one if you were selected). In section 4 they go on to say that you grant them a non-exclusive license which gives them the right to do anything they want with the material once they have it. They also want you to be a member of a PRO, which means that they would file a cue sheet and you'd get performance royalties as the writer.I'm not a lawyer but this looks like fairly standard stuff. But only your attorney knows for sure. I wouldn't sign anything like this without consulting an attorney first and having them explain in plain terms what all of this means. If you hire and attorney this time and listen and learn, the next time you see language like this, you'll have a better handle on understanding it.Protect yourself and hire an attorney.Good luck,Mazz
