Like I said, I only needed to represent the Billy Joel for a second there. And I hope everyone noticed that I DID step down from my soap box... Tedps. BTW, Ern, what's the latest on your home front? Have things calmed down at all? I realize that's a whole other thread, but I haven't heard an update in a while...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!Suz* True fact: A song that stays stuck in your head is called a "worm song." I wonder if the Arrogant worms knew that when they recorded this song???

I realize that's a whole other thread, but I haven't heard an update in a while...Um, er --- well, not so good. The LAPD was here on Friday night, because "Psycho" thought that we were walking in his attic (there IS no attic!) and knocking down drywall onto his floor. My wife walked outside to see what was going on, and was ACCOSTED by the LAPD, threatening her for this dastardly act! There was an HOA Board member there with "Psycho" One and a half hours before the cops showed up. We are getting attacked from all sides, including the Board. I had a 20 minute conversation with this jackass, and he would NOT admit that "Psycho" is mentally ill. "Why can't we all get along" etc. THEN, "Psycho" let loose his "Wookie" scream! I asked the Board member if he heard that, and I said that "Psycho" does that all the time. The jackass said " I heard it come from YOUR home." --- My wife is 5'2" and 110 pounds. There's no way she could make a "Wookie sound" like that! --- Man ---So we called the LAPD to make a complaint against how their officers treated my wife, basically "throwing her against the wall." At 3:00 A.M, and to his credit, the cop who showed up was extremely professional and took a taped deposition from my wife. --- I got 2 hours of sleep after going to bed at 6:30.And so it goes --- Ern

My "worm songs" (hehehe) have been in my head for years, I always wind up singing them around the house - "Dream a Little Dream of Me" it's an oldie isn't it! I think it's beautiful. Apparently it was number one in 1968 and sold 7 million copies world wide. Originally by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt. Lyrics were written by Gus Kahn."Stormy Weather" is another one, and I just read the original was written for Ethel Waters to sing in the 1933 edition of the "Cotton Club Parade" ... 1933 Love it Nice thread Ern, I'll be singing "Uptown Girl" later I just know it (I just read about jackass, so sorry Ern)Linzi

I have to agree that Billy Joel songs rank high on the worm-o-meter. "My Life", comes to mind... especially after my divorce.Amy Winehouse' "Rehab" has also eaten into my brain of late.Cameron

Quote:When the movie about this situation comes out,who will play the part of Psycho?I will protest if it is anyone other than our own Steve Gilbert.I have a stuck in your head story. Bear with me.Five months ago I moved into a new house in a new neighborhood. Some of the locals found out I was a musician and invited to a party to bring along my guitar. They had some punch there and I had some. It was pretty good so I had some more. They told me it was spiked. I do not drink but I thought one more punch would be OK. So I had two more. I noticed my hands were all sweaty and I was breaking off one song to go into another. My mind would not stay still.I asked the gal who had invited me over what was in the punch. She said speed and ecstasy. I shouldn't drink more than one or two. Oh. I had had four. I left really pissed off but hiding my feelings.Later that night I could hear what seemed like every sound in the world. If my stomach growled I nearly jumped out of my skin it was so loud. Actually scared the hell out of me.Then it started. I could hear a pipe organ clear as day. It was doing snake charmer and parts of Bach. It would end on a very long note and then start all over again. Eventually it transformed into another melody I did not recognize. This went on for five days. I didn't come down for twelve days. For several days I believed it was real. I drove around town asking others if they could hear it. No one could. When I drove to a neighboring town I could not hear it anymore, but when I returned to my town it was there to greet me again. These are sounds I actually heard. They may not have been there but I heard them, not like what we call getting a song stuck in our heads because we don't actually hear those, we just keep humming them. I also heard men talking in my refrigerator. I could make out the whole conversation. I thought my house was bugged or the frig was transmitting shortwave frequencies. I used my equipment to try and record some of these sounds. Of course there was nothing on the recorder when I listened back.It was a bad experience as I eventyally became convinced I had lost my mind. I was dreaming up a revenge on those neighbors when they were evicted and I did not have to think of them anymore. Good riddance.
