Holy cow, this thread is till alive? 120 replies, 1308 views! Meanwhile people looking for peer reviews of their music (imagine that) are lucky to get 10 replies, many have 0 or 1 reply. Just sayin'...

People would rather express their viewpoints on music than listen to other people's music. Reviewing music is boring.

Why try to get reviews from other musicians? They are not providing opportunities to exploit your music. Taxi submissions are the only reviews composers should be looking forward to.

Yes, I think you're right. This thread is certainly evidence to supports that statement.

This is also a reasonable point...and something I've considered.

What I've found (from experience) is that: I have obtained some very useful input from other Taxi members who have great ears. They prove it time and time again. I also hope that I have been able to help people from time to time.

BTW, I like your contributions (for the most part) to this forum. They are kinda refreshing. ;) It has made me curious to hear some of your work. :)

However, I have wondered if you are the alter-ego of an existing forum member (like the free speaking version) and that's why there is no music of yours to be heard. I've seen this done on other forums I've been on. The thing that has tripped them up is: using the same IP address...so (if this is the case) be careful...

However, I'm enjoying this persona...just the same. ;)

Are you kidding me???

I'm not even sure why I'm taking the time to try and explain this to you if you just made an honest statement but I'm going to anyway since I can't seem to just let that statement you made hang out there like that.

Do you live in a vacuum? Why look forward to another musician to give feedback?!? Here's a short list of reasons why...

- they are listening with fresh ears
- they may offer insight that we as the composer did not see or hear that will probably in the long run make our music more usable
- why wait for Taxi to return your music when getting an honest opinion from other people who know what they are talking about may actually help you get a forward
- do you really think that you produce flawless music 100% of the time with no input from anyone around you?
- their feedback is free and its usually pretty spot on

I could keep going on but I'm not even sure if you would listen or get my point. I believe that this forum is one of the best benefits Taxi offers. Its great to hear what other people are producing and to get constant feedback. Besides most instrumental Taxi listings don't give a full critique.

Honestly, if you actually want to have a career in this business, which from reading some of your posts I'm not really sure if that is what you want, why would you completely discredit and make others wrong (AGAIN) for what they do that works for them.

Whether you mean to or not your comments continue to condescend and make us Taxi & Forum members wrong for what we do. Some of us by the way have accomplished some pretty great things musically doing what we do. So until you start earning seven figures annually from ASCAP or BMI please stop acting as though you do and maybe you might actually learn a thing or two from someone around here as well.
