This might be a miniscule piece of wisdom, but I think every little piece of the puzzle is important...My dear friend in LA gave me some advice this past week about "throwing off" thoughts that might be bringing on anxiety, no matter how mild...She said "Do like Scarlett O'Hara did in the movie - Gone With The Wind. Just say something like, ' Well, I'm just not gonna think about that today. Maybe tomorrow, but not today.' "That small piece of advice has caught me smiling thru one of the more difficult weeks I've experienced!

Can't stay very long. I've been trying to get myself real busy so that I don't think about smoking so far it's been working. Between keeping busy and the patch I'm now ending my 5th day. It's working, and so far the 2nd and 3rd day were the hardest!

Congrats Solrax! You're doin' swell! Keep at it! Just ta' let y'all know where I'm at today: My 18th day without a cig! Feelin' good! Went to the store, got some more fruit trail mix (I like snackin' now, HA!) somemore apple juice, etc... So I'm doin' pretty good. Still get the urge every now & then, but not enough ta' make me cave in. Managed to put away my first $100 from NOT smokin'. Lookin' at the 2 $50 bills right now. I'll put 'em in the safe! Keep fightin' bro'. I know about them shakes from workin' a midnight shift job, knowin damn well I'm supposed ta' be asleep at all hours of the night. I'd punch out at six a.m., and practically sleep-drive my way home, stumble in the house with the shakes. It was brutal. I imagine the shakes is the shakes, regardless of how ya' get 'em. And hey, jes a reminder to those of you in the action phase, I'm jes dyin' over here with a sudden onset of respiratory flu that hit one of my kids a few days ago. This is my penance for nursing him back to health, I guess. Shoulda got my flu shot and so should all y'all this fall, jes to be sure. It seems the spring time can hit harder than it should. Even with the flu shot, we were hit with three different colds in a row (dang these pre-schoolers...my doctor calls them "petri dishes" ). I think the planet has decided to get tough with all of us
