Quote:One thing I do NOT want to become is one of those ex-smoker NazisYou don't have to become that, I didn't. I still hang out with my smoking friends and I don't try to convince them to quit or tell them to get away from me with that cigarette or make any other obnoxious comments. Nor do I think they smell disgusting, they just smell like smokers...At first I would try to surround myself with mostly non-smokers though and stay away from "trigger situations" as much as possible, but after you get over the initial physical addiction phase it's really your choice...Many people hate their former smoking selves, I really don't...there was nothing wrong with me back then (more than there is now ), I just smoked. And it was bad for my health, so I quit. And it was REALLY hard to quit, so I wouldn't start again. For a year or so you still may be tempted from time to time, but then that goes away too.For now, just concentrate on quitting... matto

OK, the good news is that by this time tomorrow, I will have made it through my first two weeks without a smoke since 1980. This is astounding. There is NO WAY I could have made it this far...this easily...without y'all's help. No way. Thank you, thank you, thank you.Shall I change the title of this thread again, Lindsey?Ted

Hey, y'all.I can hardly believe it. And if anyone had told me a month ago I'd be not only trying this, but (seemingly) pulling it off ... I'da laughed in their face.wooHOO!! Two weeks, 2.5 hours. Last night I had "the" dream again where I was trying to smoke everything within reach, and nobody would help or give me a smoke and all the smokes I found were either wet or contaminated or...... Not a terrific night of sleep, but at least I recognize the torturous dreams for what they are: my body AND my mind trying to get this outta my system.Check-in with y'all tomorrow.Ted
