Maybe we could frame our meeting around Tin Pan South one year too....I've always wanted to go to that....if we all gathered there, we could take in some of those songwriting conventions.Even if we didn't do it around Tin Pan South, we could still meet and hang out together and write some songs too.And plus, there's "Tedstock"....we can all meet for pizza every now and then. I'm feeling better....traveling just takes the stuffing out of you sometimes.

Regrets that I didn't get a chance to meet EVERYONE there. Regrets that everyone couldn't bee there and hopes to meet in the future. And...Another THANK YOU to Michael for hosting/arranging/MC-ing this event for us.I'm with Andy. The panelists reassured me (us?) over and over that it IS the song that should carry the day (though there are other undeniable factors).Though this confidence did dip just a bit on the way home as I listened closely to what's on the radio.GregGreg, it was great meeting you, and you have the cutest wife and children.

We could also write some tunes together, network, etc. at Tedstock as well. It could be one big 'write in' (and of course, the great socializing) that would make the TAXI writers a force to be reckoned with, sort of like the ex-pat novelists and writers movement in 1920's Paris, a 'Ted-geist,' if we can call it that too.

I love the idea of our country group networking together. We gotta help each other and look out for our own, just like up and coming songwriters in Nashville do. I only wish Nashville wasn't so expensive to travel to. It's only a 2 hour flight but the prices are crazy - it's cheaper for me to fly 6 hrs to LA! We should try to at least connect at the Rally if we're all there....see if we can't write ourselves a #1 together.

Time to start planning for a yearly get together in Nashville. Not a TAXI thing. ANYONE that wants to come is more than welcome. I think we should seriously consider it. We can rent a venue for a day to be able to hang and play music and maybe one of our local Nashville sisters or brothers would be kind enough to host a gathering. (hint hint TED) Or anyone else.Once a year. I know everyone gets all verklempt over the rally but Im talking a gathering just for fun and music and whatever else happens. If we got enough folks interested then I will be willing to start making arrangements. No better place than Nashville. The vibe is awesome and the people friendly. Traffic isnt too bad and its full of people just like us.M~

Might be cheaper to fly to Memphis and drive up, if you're renting a car anyhoo. Oh, and amen to Matt.

(hint hint TED) Or anyone else.Check with NSAI and see if they'd be willing to do a pitch session and a panel discussion. If we were talking about maybe 50 people tops, they could easily fit into the NSAI meeting room where they hold their Thursday night meetings. Getting together is cool and hanging out is fun, but Nashville is a big trip for some folks and having a chance to play a song or two for industry pros is always a good draw.Doing it around Tin Pan South would mean no NSAI involvement because they're pretty much in charge of that whole thing and at the end of TPS they do a two day symposium. just thoughts.Claire

I'm up for a yearly Nashville thing if it's in late March or early April. I'm already planning a trip next year around that time
