Chits I'm not a country writer but still learnt a lot from your post. Practice, Practice, listening to critique and more practice. Throw in some determination and patience and that the recipe for the perfect......

I'd be game for a yearly songwriter rendezvous of networking, socialzing. I'm not a country writer by any means but gosh, some of my best friends are so it'd be worth the drive for me. Count me in. Dead easier than getting to the Rally (and far more affordable too).

Checked my dates last night and mid-March is the best for me. Know that's a bit wintery, but it works out better in terms of managing my studio, etc. So, if I can save the money, that's my plan.

The vibe is like nowhere else Ive been and everyone I met and worked with was as friendly as could be.M~

Mid March would be a bit chilly but not horrible. Then again, we've had some unexpected freezes and "snow" here in March. April is considerably better weather-wise, other than the tornado warnings. Nobody ever moved here for the weather!Maybe ASCAP or BMI or SESAC might be willing to let the group use one of their meeting rooms, especially if they thought they might get some new members from the exposure.Claire

One other suggestion - if anyone knows someone with a big house, a really big house, they might be willing to host a day-long event. Doak Turner is a good contact person (Ted, if you know Doak, ask him about that). Claire

I've also been reading Matt's, Claire's, Vikki's, Adrienne's, Squiddy's, Ted's, Mojo's and Warren's thoughts about meeting up in Nashville again.....some very good suggestions there folks.
