"Lennon's a bullshit artist and MLK is an adulterer."I guess to you, mani, that sums up who they were. But, your degradation of them and generalizations about people and cultures sounds ignorant and foolish, not honest and non-aggressive, as you state. There is no typical American any more than there is a typical Irish person. Respecting and admiring people doesn't turn them into"sacred cows". Millions of fans believe the Beatles were great, including Lennon, and so was/is the Sgt. Pepper'salbum. As you say, "case closed".

Sigh....Round 9On the contrary Katy, MLK degraded himself when he fooled around on his missus. I had nothing to do with it. Quote:Respecting and admiring people doesn't turn them into"sacred cows".It is if you're going to freak out any time somebody says something negative about said person. Quote:There is no typical American any morethan there is a typical Irish person. To say that nations do not exhibit personalities broadly speaking is patently absurd pc nonsense. Australians are friendly, Irish drink a lot, Chinese work hard, Italians are highly sexed and Americans are fat and aggressive. All demonstrably true. Also Katy, I may indeed be ignorant and foolish but at least I'm aware of it!

mani: "I may indeed be ignorant and foolish..."Finally, some agreement! And yes, let's end it here because we don't agree onthe other issues.

From what I've observed over the years, some people like to argue just for the sake of arguing (especially friends who are lawyers!) Back to Sgt. Pepper's Did you know that "Fixing A Hole" wasn't recorded at Abbey Road!? No sir, it was recorded at Regent Sound. George Martin remembers "Regent Sound was a pretty awful little studio, very cramped and boxy."Martin was an independent producer by then, but the EMI employees couldn't come along for the session, so Adrian Ibbetson filled in as first engineer. The most distinctive instrument on "Fixing A Hole" was a harpsichord, supposedly played by Paul. But the session tape proves that the harpsichord and bass were played simultaneously, so this throws a question mark over Paul's exact role.Ern

Ok! We're all just over the trauma of the toing and froing between Katy and I so I reckon we're up for the ultimate Beatles question: Lennon or McCartney? Now I know the sensible answer to this is Lennon AND McCartney but let's pretend you've really got to choose or someone's going to blow up the planet! I haven't made up my mind yet but I'm leaning towards Mr. Lennon. What'd'y'all think?

Sarasota... I was abducted by two lovely ladies... I mean two crazed female perpetrators... Naw nevermind...I went to visit some family down there. Got chased by a gator... Stayed out of jail... And helped the Sam Adams brewery make a bit of a 1st quarter profit, by golly...
