liamkelly? Now that statement really works, proving my statement of artistic creativity is what I was going for.you see I, (the male in the pix playing the bass) did all the vocals Hi and Low ,,, and mid, rap chant and lead.on such short notice to get the deadline in.So for someone to think I had a female vox in the mix, (and say it was very good) mean a little something. right.and my vox was very rusty, I have not hit ranges like that in years, I'm trying to get back in that range and maybe do a jazz song like hummingbird suggested.ok, ok, ok sorry steve à gilbert, I wanted you to be the last word but this topic seems to be pretty hot, and very very informative.thanks everyone"That's my take on it. Hope it helps. If at any time you are wondering about the criteria of any listing, post it up in Dispatch or Listings and ask for clarification. Interpreting the listings effectively & submitting appropriately is crucial to your success."Hummingbird? I wish we talked before the deadline, then I would have sent in two versions.just to think I was going to send a Bass guitar only traditional version but got lazy.

I'm off to listen again. But spend some time at those top registers, friend. The vox was good there. In anyone's book.

I've listened again and that harmony line (the second one) sure sounds like a woman. Either way - excellent harmony line sung excellently.

Quote:horacejesse?I hear ya. "Why, here's the hearts and flowers now."even after most killers murder a person, some bring flowers to the funeral.at least I'm alive to read these post. Thanks to johnnydean1, your last post did make me feel better.I was not feeling distraught, just honestly concerned.I am a pusher for originality, which is very very hard to find these days and days of past. this is why I posted here, I figured people would appreciate each other's creative talent. As a business man, my clients confirm my value, which is very important to mebecause I've grown accustomed to high taste, and I love playing bass and creating music in other words I don't want to do anything else, and I thank God I can make a living at this.Being online before online even got popular (ya'll remember the 28.8k modems and compuserve was just a thought? I started young!) My good cdbaby sales, website clients across the country etc. blah, blah, blahthat is my true confirmation. My point is, this web page is good for me to listen to others that don't know me,and maybe I can contribute my experience to others as well.johnnydean1, I was upset (it was a pride thing) but I chose to keep the peace, attacks are pointless, over personal taste. As you stated, you have the right to your opinion, and honestly, I thank you for your honestly.it may have been the best post on this issue of this song, yet.I really want to hear your music. I won't bash, i will listen and give my own honest thoughts.dgolding?I'm wit u man, I feel the same way. thanks for the look out by taking the time in posting.mazz?I am going to follow up on this info, you are awesome. After all this, It would be wild if this work got giant attention and picked up.remember, I have a studio, thank God because I am not perfect. So like the great encourager on this issue (Hummingbird) said "It is definitely different & creative"this is exactly what I was going for, but if need be, I can make adjustments-----------------------------------------------------------Maybe I missed the boat on this one, but I really don't think so. See my understanding of the listing was:Original versions of the Traditional/Public Domain spiritual hymn/song "SWING LOW, SWEET CHARIOT" are needed......... Both VOCAL and INSTRUMENTAL versions are OK. A cappella versions are fine as well. Here is the kicker..... They're open to a fairly wide variety of instrumentation, BUT, keep it as close to a traditional arrangement as possible. They're not seeking Heavy Metal or Electronica versions, for example. this makes me think they are NOT looking for traditional versions, They are looking for ANY OTHER CREATIVE STYLE, as long as it is NOT Heavy Metal or Electronica versionsBelieve me I am not venting, I just wanted to clarify my understanding of the post. trust me the extra money ($120 for me) to join dispatch, plus $5 could go in gas, If Taxi is not making accurate postings, just to pass on my submissions.I grew up in church, still go - hard-coremy daddy sing this all my life. it would have been very quick and easy to sing it the traditional way if I wanted to, or if they asked.either way I'm gonna work on this version for prospects outside Taxi, if they pass on it.I have to get some work done, thanks so much everyone.if you are in CT visit me.post more, I'm starting to like you all as my new friends.jaxsn,I recently spent weeks working on something that in the end I had to scrap.I didn't know where to go with it musically.Your version of SLSC reminded me of that.It seemed to lack direction. As I said it had nothing to do with you as a person or as a musician. Now let's get down to the things that really matter in life. What Bass rig do you use, your guitar looks Fenderish Precs maybe or is it something a lot more sophisticated?

johnnydean1?wow that's too bad, we may have liked it.don't let it get you down, cheer up and hang in there.I have hundreds of song idea concepts or completed songsI have almost scrapped. meaning they are just sitting in my computerdating back to 1993. But I don't trash them. I mean if I did, it would bethe hardest thing for me to do because they are like my babies to me.anyway, what kind of basses do you have?hear is a link to my bass site:http://jaxsn.com/index1.htmlthere are pictures of my basses there.yes my Bass systems are big, but not huge, it's only 1000 wattsthat's my mesa powerhouse 1000unreal sound (15" in the center, 4 10's in each corner)this is my concert cab handles 1000 wts, I have a custom head poweredby a mackie.I use my bam 210 in small venues it's 350 watts or 500 wts when I add another 4 ohm

Check out this player:www.wimpyplayer.comIt's pretty easy to install on your site, and it has several advantages over embedded audio files:- There's no page load time, and minimal buffer time required when songs are selected for play.- When a song is started, the previously playing song's playback is stopped so there's no audio overlap.- Adding/subtracting songs is as easy as adding or removing them from a folder on your site.- Songs can be easily organized in playlists by simply using a folder structure on your site. The downside is that there's no download option for songs.I did listen to a few of your tracks, and I think your R&B stuff stands out from the other genres with good hooks, playing, and production. I thought your scary music was a little generic sounding, and could use more varied instrumentation, arrangement, and emotion.Andre

Quote:Case in point - How many times have you heard a preacher/teacher talk about when Saul's name was changed to Paul? Your homework for the weekend is to find that story in the bible. No disrespect meant. Stepping off my soapbox now.AubInteresting how many people bashed the Bible and called it myth when the man asked about his music I did some homework though check below:Acts 8:1-3 1 Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. 3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.Acts 13:99 Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? 11 And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.”SAUL to PAUL for more details read all of Acts Chapter 8 - 13 it'll tell the whole storyP.S. - Everything in the Bible cant' be myth many places and people, namely Jesus actually existed and still do exist, it's even in secular history, be sure to check your facts... My 2 cents...Lets get back to Making good music and making good money from Taxi's Contacts
