Countdown. 17 more days 'til we head for Houston.I was hoping my body would adjust a bit to the interferon. After my shot last night, I'm beginning to wonder. I tried to walk for 15 minutes this a.m.. My legs were like concrete blocks. But then, it's only been a week. At the end was coffee, lovely coffee.
I shall wipe every tear from their eyes....

Hi WaltNot a day goes by, without me thinking about you. I'm also 5'8(just turned 47) and also have a lot more living to do. And I love coffee too, black myself. How much longer for the Interferon? And then what happens in Houston?

How long untl your 35 shots are up? I was reading about all the side effects, sounds like you're going down the checklist of them. I was even more amazed to read that it can take up to six months after the last shot to recover from the fatigue side-effect. I hope you build up a tolerance to the side effects soon, that just sounds horrible...thoughts & prayers

Well,I like my coffee black, too. I've had my fourth injection and have 32 more to go, three a week for three months. I'm not doing well with this last one; nauseous, sleepy and heavy fatigue. Yet, I'm due for #5 tonight after work. This is why I asked that Qu. about disability. I can barely function. But, by the time the vultures caved and gave it to me, it would be all over with and pointless. All I'd do feeling like this is sleep anyway. So, better I keep on keepin' on.The treatments will end right before we go to Cancun for a second honeymoon. I sure hope I feel better.

Well, guess who spent the night in the hospital!! I hit a bad spot at work yesterday when I felt like someone was sitting on my chest. Put me on my knees. I don't (necessarily) mean for prayer either. But, I couldn't breathe well at all. Felt like the air I took in just wasn't expanding my lungs. So, they rushed me to the ER where the Dr.'s all said."I've never heard of Erdheim-Chester" and admitted me to test for Heart attack and Pericarditis. I got a positive for neither. But, what a fun night!! Woke me up to take blood, do an EKG, take my vitals, take more blood, make my IV stop beeping. I feel so rested .I am now scheduled for a stress test Tuesday morning and must follow up w/ my regular physician. It was cool to see my heart on the ultrasound, though.

Jeeees... I think the past few months of your life have been enough of a stress test, LOL... And, as you know, the worst place to get any rest is the hospital!!Well, at least they proved that you really do have a heart... (My wife might have said something like that, LOL) You know I kid you because I really care and laughter is the best medicine... Hang in there! Keep that great positive attitude!! Casey

Hey Walt - just wanted to say keep your chin up - you sound like the kind of guy who can deal with anything that comes your way as long as you understand whats going on. And we are all here pulling for you; I know that the support does help. Stress makes it all worse and harder to deal with so keep on writeing, sharing, and laughing. The 24th is my birthday and I'll send all the good wishes I get your way for your trip to MDA!

Dear Walt:I'm a 7-year breast cancer survivor, did surgery and had chemo (the worst kind). You WILL do okay on this. Behind you all the way,Hopewww.getnitahope.com
