ONE and only ONE song

Post by Casey H » Sun Sep 09, 2007 4:29 am

OK, here's the scenario...You have an opportunity to be heard by Mr. or Ms. Big, a very prominent A&R person....You have to submit ONE and only ONE song. So, what is your best? No hemming and hawing here... No "either A or B" replies... What is the ONE you would submit? Post the link here... Casey

Hey Songwriter, that's a really good song! I'd have to pick http://www.broadjam.com/transmit/transm ... hgbndsq=1I don't thinks it's my best but others always tell me it is soooo, I'm usually wrong so I'd pick this one out of sheer paranoia & uncertainty. -billg-

Very nice, guys. I enjoyed both of them. I have no idea what my best song is. I guess it would just depend on the listener (excuses, excuses ). I guess I would have to trust the producer I worked with on this album, and go with what he says is my best piece of songwriting in his opinion. So here it is...Every Day

Hey Casey, good song . . . very "atmospheric". Do you think it's odd that we've all picked melancholy ballads? What would a shrink have to say about that?

But this may be the song I am most proud of 'cos of it's chord structure. KG: I hope I didn't drive anyone to jump off a bridge today, LOL... Yes, the singer sounds like Neil Diamond. Casey

CaseyI must admit I went upstairs and had a look over the balcony Was that you singing, Casey? Tremendous vocal delivery but better songwriting. Very good job on the songwriting. Easily your most sensitive piece that I've heard so far. Intense mood. As for the other tracks in this post so far - Bill Gaunce's 'Crown of Thorns' is one of only two tracks that I've been persuaded to buy here in 18 months on Taxi. A timeless piece of 'ache' that I will listen to frequently for a long time to come (but Bill knows this!)I thought KG's Every Day was quite beautiful. I have a serious soft spot for great female singer songwriters and I thought this song could've slotted into my collection easily. So humbling and yet inspiring to be in this company of 'friends'.Liam

Yeah, what Liam said. Only, like, twice. kg, girl, you got some serious chops. Beautiful song, beautiful voice. I'm pea green!I almost bawled on You Gave Me Goodbye and Bill, classic tune! All these songs made me wanna pull the .38 outta the pocket. Yay! I guess if I was gonna choose, it wouldn't be my fave song, it'd be the one that gets the most raves from the A&R guys, since I guess they know their stuff, right? (my fave is an instrumental, go figure). This would be my choice then, I guess (upbeat, someone said, upbeat!).....so this oughta be.....uh.......jarring. http://www.broadjam.com/player/player.as....ionI NDEX=20820
