Well, given that part of your writing this song was to see if you do sectional contrast across the same chord progression (which you've done admirably IMO), the final drum tracking will surely cement the choruses.Jul 2, 2008, 4:52pm, lyle wrote:I'm glad you like the textures...but most of the electric is just the result of the natural sound of a reissue '57 Stratocaster plugged in directly...those old style pickups do cool things...the guitar solo after the bridge has no effects at all, and no amp. The weird Beck-like guitar sound that warbles in just before the first vocal is just a tremolo effect, nothing else. This was interesting because the textures are cool. Guess I should be clearing out my effects cupboard!! Don't know if I can Loking forward to the drums mix.Liam

Mark,Beautiful work on this. From hook line to melody and structure, everything causes the song to stick right in your head after just one listening. That's what makes a great selling song.JeffP.S. Haven't had time to listen but once so I can't give any technical critique.

I just ordered EZ Drummer, so hopefully I'll do it right in a week or two. But I'm working on a drum machine version for now that should be posted later tonight or tomorrow. No, I wouldn't let go of effects either! But there are always bizarre sounds to be made just by how you play or by doubling up with another instrument, etc. Sky's the limit.

Re: Lemonade
hi mark--ok, now what are you going to do with this very good tune? for what it's worth my previous comments stand, however, in the latest version, early on, i notice some vox clips that need snipped, but again, at what stage is this? i love the tune, just wonderin'the best, warrenps: love your vox!!!

Re: Lemonade - New Mix with Drums
yay for drums! Fills it out really nicely! But before you do something with this, you might want to revisit the lead vox... something doesn't really sit well, and I think it may be that it's over compressed. And the EQ on it isn't quite as warm as the rest of the song... But.... guess what? I'm still lovin' the song!!!

Re: Lemonade - New Mix with Drums
very very nice mark, i still love it mucho.damn if i still don't hear that clicking, i hear it at the ends of your very nice vocal, the K sounds at the end of the words thinK, Cool, drinK, lighT, spoT etc. and i hear it throughout, but hell, if i'm the ONLY one who hears it, screw it. or maybe zoomster said it up there (as usual--hell i'm going to start hiring some of you guys to explain in music lingo what the hell i'm trying to say....) whatever it is, i hear the clicking, and the eq on the high might be it, but don't know nothin' but birthin' no mixes.....REALLY like the added drums, great job.the best, warren
