A situation where the phrase "Many happy returns!" just doesn't resonate.

Hey,
Maybe its not YOU...you may be too original for this type of service. Taxi only seems to want someone elses sound, because thats what the cleints want. I know a bunch of really original artists who are not going to renew, because of this. It seems like taxi only caters to the ultra mainstream market. If ya think about it, almost all of the acts they want you to sound like, didnt get famous due to taxi..interesting.
Anyway, good luck and keep writing, this is but a small bump,
Bobby

I was speaking with someone else recently who was with TAXI for 3 years and had no forwards..... all music returned. He left TAXi and submitted a few tunes to a couple of indi-rock labels. In short order, according to him, he had several of the labels fighting to get him signed and went on to tour and had a blast with the music that TAXI turned down.

My story: I've been here almost 3 years and I agree that the screeners are not forwarding as much of my music as I would like or even think. Heck they just returned a song that everone that heard it in the P2P forum said was dead on. WHAT? I was 99% sure it was a forward but they returned it. I have a personal commitment to stick it out 5 years and see what happens. Regardless of the returns, I have had several songs signed to an A list library. So I'll stick for a bit and keep following the 5 year plan.

If you're leaving, write what you love, and submit to publishers and libraries. There is more than one way to get music into TV & film because obviously, TAXI is NOT the only source to get leads and into the libraries. And to be honest, I have more songs signed to non-taxi originated libraries than to the taxi lead libraries.

Taxi has certainly given me a great education in the current status of the music biz.

His "I'm odda here" post was in March of 2010 :D (you can see in the lower left of each post). I think he's been gone for a while. ;)

Yeah, he’s gone... Maybe we feel an urge and keep writing to him because it's such a sad story. It has some major human dramaturgical ingredients, don’t lose your soul, don’t sell your soul…
They could make a Hollywood movie out of it. And we here on Taxi could all make the music for it.

Wow, I wish I knew which Indi labels. I think that's a great story. We all want labels to be fighting over us. I don't mean to take it out of context. I am better off not renewing but besides the fact that there aren't any critiques most of the time, there are two things which can be good to be a taxi member. One is the custom critique and the other is the road rally.

Clearly YMMV as they say. Some have done better with Taxi, others better on the outside, many a combo. No one suggests using ANY one vehicle exclusively for marketing your music. I use Taxi and every other method I can find.

One thing to keep in mind is Taxi's renewal is only $199/year and that price has been the same for many years, despite inflation affecting everything else. One placement due to one A-list library deal could easily cover that plus submission fees. Additionally, one “favorable introduction” can be worth its weight in gold. A lot of folks have been contacted about one track that was forwarded and went on to sign 10-20 more with that library because they now had the relationship.

I rarely submit anymore, I wouldn't call TAXI screeners supporters of innovation, and I've received some absolutely absurd feedback in critiques (ie. don't EVER title your track without googling first to see if there's another track out there with the same name) wtf lol as if no matter how awesome your track is it won't be forwarded unless you change the cockadoodie name, even tho the name is appropriate. That said, the 200 bucks per year is like playing the lottery. It's only 200 bucks.

There is a lot of places where people work one full month just about 200 bucks.Like in my country for example!
I'm from Europe , and i'm near to Italy.
Another thing...where i can hear some music created by 53 mph?
