Re: SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS a la Bob Dylan,
Hey Devin, don't get bummed, I don't think a lot of this forward/return stuff has anything to do with where you are musically or as a witer/producer/etc. There was probably something this listing was looking for that wasn't what I had to offer. Someone will explain to me what this is, I still won't understand, gripe about it a bit & then move on. I think sometimes that getting a forward has a lot to do with an understanding of simple Voodoo. Getting a deal is some other more complicated kind of magic.

Re: SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS a la Bob Dylan,
Thanks gang...I'm actually pretty realistic about my progress (which has been really good since I joined...the fastest I've ever progressed). I'm not discouraged personally about my stuff, as I know it's still getting better. I joined that 50 songs in 90 days challenge, so we'll see if that helps push my creation side...and my chops!Sorry if I appeared too down over this thread...things are all good. And both of you are great, btw!

Re: SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS a la Bob Dylan,
hey everybody--couldn't help but chime in and say when i hear very talented people frosted at the screeners, i won't say it gives me hope exactly, but more like WHAT THE HELL is taxi really doing? and actually all my bitching may have as much merit as i THINK it has!! i know, i know somebody out there will yell at me for not being a believer--CAN I HEAR AN AMEN? amen...anyway, when i hear you squidly and billyg so friggin' down, i will reach for my vice--a sip of fine wine--and just keep getting pister and pister. but THAT is dangerous, as i get smarter, try harder, etc. when i'm mad as hell. christ, that may be it-- taxi is really a therapy venue to make us all strong humans--as if most of us don't know what that means already.ok, enough rambling--i just read billyg's "medicated" line up there and am (are you ready squids for an email phrase?)--i was LOL!!! you are all talented folks, frig them, keep pounding them with good stuff, as long as you gots the $5, and maybe well, i'm keeping hope alive. you folks i've found are very, very cool. my personal goal is to hear one (1), uno, of my songs on the raydeeoh before i cash in my chips. that's what keeps me going. all the best, warren

Bill,Keep your head up...you definitely have a unique flavor and it is bound to hit.I hear what you are saying (and everybody else). There are times when I thought I had a no brainer and got the rejection email.maybe being more selective is better, but this listing did have your name all over it. But again, it's just one screener's opinion.Believe in yourself buddy..you have the talent and the ability to write great songs.

I have to chime in hear and say I haven't heard Compliments in Lavendar but I don't feel Deja Vue Blues was quite right for the listing, even though I really like the song.Cameron

Re: SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS a la Bob Dylan,
Bill, your music is fantastic and unique (the best thing of all)....you will succeed one day....ya just gotta keep on believing. I always pull out this silly song that I wrote (y'all have heard it) when I'm in a doubting mood....it sums up my whole philosophy about staying the course. When No One Else BelievesEverywhere around you Someone's gonna doubt youAs you travel on that journeyTo points unknownIt's so easy to give upTo stay stuck in a hopeless rutBut if you stay the courseYou might make it homeChorus:Oh, you have to believeWhen no one else believesYou gotta have that visionWhen no one else can seeOh, you have to believeWhen no one else believesAnd you'll rise like the morning sunFloatin' over the treesThose hard knocks they can claim youAnd those critics they can tame youWhen those goals you're reaching forAre so far away....Some will call you crazyWhen you start dream chasin'Listen to your heartNot what others sayRepeat chorus

Re: SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS a la Bob Dylan,
Thank you Mr Flat, Chits (good lyrics), Ern, appreciate it.Ern, my main pitch for this listing was "compliments" & I tossed in Deja Vu Blues based on some feedback on the forums that mentioned a Dylan tone. Heck, I never know how to call it anymore.
