They'll be punished the same way as the bankers.

As it happens, BP has a great deal of cash on hand, more than half a billion by some estimates. Their checks don't bounce, which is possibly the nicest thing you'll hear about 'em this week. In fairness, they can't be very happy about this situation either, but they cut corners and they will pay the price.

I don't doubt they're unhappy, but it's the complaintancy and arrogance of the CEO that has made a bad situation even worse.
If people show genuine sorrow then there is an opening for forgiveness.

Make no mistake, Brits are angry about the situation too.
The pictures of those poor creatures are heartbreaking!

Agreed. And thanks fo keepin us company in our collective misery right now. It helps that lots all over the world are sendin out encouragement and sympathy. All that lush wildlife out there, all the human life inland (I hear the benzene stench is jes the worst, I think that's what we're smelling here and I don't wanna think about longterm exposure effects).

And a CEO who'd like to get his life back. I can only imagine his pain when he got his bonus. :x

Dave, I thought that was your great sense of humor coming thru when I first read that. :D
I still remember when you photoshopped Ringo's pic in the Led Zep Picture.....LOL!

Hey Squids, I'm so sorry Hon, you always seem to be in the middle of these gulf disasters. I hear that happens a lot to the
best people....and you are one my friend. Thinking bout you and all the others this will test over time :(
I saw a biologist on a show say that there's so much oil out there, and they'll never get it all, that with some time, maybe years, tar balls are going to wash up on English shores. So British Petroleum will get some of it's oil back, our oil really!
And it will be the good peeps like Dave and Michael who it will affect first and most, all for a man they obviously think is a disgrace to England....what a shame!
So sorry all!
Steve
Worse, how can it be worse...Jehova Jehova Jehova

Hay (heh)! Those boys have about the neatest solution I've seen. Keeps the farmers in green (cash), adds green to the cleanup and it's an easy, not-so-high-maintenance solution. I appreciate you posting this a lot, Len. I'm postin it on Facebook. I'm sho there are some things that might need to be ironed out (the general mass of oil, for instance) but it's a very bright solution without us suffocatin from burnin oil or from the dispersants. I promise, the smell of that is jes chokin us all to pieces.
