This is kinda embarassing, then...I once played in a Kiss tribute band... Stage makeup and all... I was Ace Frehley...

There goes what little credibility you had left Hooks!! That's the kind of thing you should only confess on your deathbed!

Back to the Beatles for a moment. Regarding "She Loves You", here's a quote from the current Rolling Stone mag. about the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time"..."When McCartney's father heard the song, he said, 'Son, there are enough Americanisms around. Couldn't you sing, 'Yes, yes, yes,' just for once? McCartney said, 'You don't understand, Dad. It wouldn't work."lol

Quote:Yeah but... I could tell you stories about groupies... Your name must not have been DrewThe first really big gig our band played when I was a teenager was because the promoter heard us do a mostly Beatle show at a party, and we were just cutting up.
It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere

Good thing Paul disagreed with dad...We'd also probably have gotten, "I'd be most honored to hold your hand" Quote:The first really big gig our band played when I was a teenager was because the promoter heard us do a mostly Beatle show at a party, and we were just cutting up.Actually, my first real gig was at a church carnival -- We did a few Beatles tunes, too -- But at the end of the show, as we played China Grove for the second time, I threw my cap out into the crowd in a "rock-star" type of move... and somebody gave it back... Sheesh! Never played THAT carnival again! For years I suppressed that tragic event... Feels good to finally talk about it. I can move on now...

They really captured the POWER of the Beatles in the early years. I picked "Please Please Me" as my favorite early Beatle song, but it's a toss up between the other two.All of the early singles were propelled by Lennon's rhythm guitar and Ringo's drumming. Nobody can deny that those mop-tops ROCKED! Just watch some live footage from Ed Sullivan etc. It was real-time energy.Peace & Love,Ern

Hey, Ern, I'm great... how are you? Yah, I'd have to agree about those early Beatles tunes."I Wanna Hold Your Hand" brings with it incredible lastingmemories, eh? (for those old enough... or is that youngenough?... to remember) Personally, I think it's beyond blasphemy for Dylan's"Like A Rolling Stone" to be listed as #1 in the RollingStone article (do you think it's just the coincidink of the"Rolling Stone" in the title?) while "Yesterday" is listedas #13!! Blasphemy, I say! Lennon's "Imagine" is thehighest rated tune of any Beatles' members at #3. Thenext is "Hey Jude" at #8.Any guess what is listed as #2, right above "Imagine"?(if you've read the article, no guessing allowed! lol)
