What happened to our buddy Brian in Canada? Haven't heard from him in a while. If your tongue was frozen to a flag pole in Canada what Beatle songs would you listen to while waiting for it to thaw?Ringo

Quote:If your tongue was frozen to a flag pole in Canada what Beatle songs would you listen to while waiting for it to thaw?I'd start with: Only a Northern Song. Then, because I'd be out there all night: I'm A Loser; Fool On A Hill; Mr. Moonlight; Misery; I'm So Tired; A Hard Day's Night; --- and finally: Here Comes The Sun; Good Day Sunshine; I've Got A Feeling; Twist and Shout; --- ending with their unreleased 1962 recording of Tip Of My Tongue (which is left on the damn flag pole!) This is cool....this thread has about surpassed the "Passion" thread that got deleted. So I feel redeemed, (if you'll pardon the expression). I guess John was right, they are about as popular as Jesus.

Maybe even more so. Nothin' like a great Beatlestune to cut across generations and other boundaries, eh?

Trivia facts On the white album's "Julia" (a song for John's mother), John used a finger-picking style he learned from Donovan, who he hung out with in India. They were both there learning TM with the Maharishi...Paul plays lead guitar on "Another Girl"...When Paul was writing "Hey Jude" (written for Julian Lennon), he played it for John... When Paul sang the line, "The movement you need is on your shoulder", he explained to John how that line was, of course, just a placeholder-- it had no meaning... John replied, "I know EXACTLY what that means... Leave it in!!".... So, think of that next time you read someone's critique of your lyric... And the challenge of the day... Name at least one song that George sang lead on that was written by Lennon and McCartney... CaseyPS The Beatles still are a great unifying force... here, there, and everywhere...

More Trivia! Most Beatle fans may know this one, but on "Abbey Road" after "Carry That Weight", the guitar solos are cyclical and in order: Paul, George, & John. Paul does a good job, George plays a great Clapton-ish lick, and John makes "Me f--ckin' guitar talk." It's really a small time capsule of their musical personalities. Ern
